The CTO role, as multifaceted as a pineapple pizza
I am currently the CTO of NUMA, one of the big players in the startup scene in Europe. The role makes me meet a lot of bright people, some that succeed and some that fail : founders, CEOs, CTOs, CMOs, CDO, COOs, CCO, CxOs.
What makes a great company ? The team, the product and the opportunity.
CTOs have to join both ends of “team” and “product” — when they start a company, CTOs have to build the product from scratch. It’s often hard to tell the difference between a CTO and a developer in a 2 people company.
But as the company grows, the role changes, constraints appear, team management becomes prevalent and the nerd in you might not be prepared.
So what does a CTO have to face every day, at different stages of a company ?
That’s what I’ll answer here, by having pizza with a bunch of them, from companies of completely different sizes.
Let’s get started, I’m hungry.
Stay up to date with the pizzas !
